Child Support Facts — Georgia's New "Income Shares Model"

Child support guidelines are laid out in Georgia statutes. Effective January 1, 2007, Georgia guidelines for calculating child support have been based on an "income shares" model. This model takes into account the income of both the custodial and non-custodial parent. These guidelines apply to child support in contested and non-contested hearings.

Child Support Modifications

It is possible to modify a child support order up or down. I handle alimony, child custody, and child support modifications, and can help you with yours. In Georgia you are only allowed to modify a child support or alimony order once every two years.
